一、学校介绍

希腊爱奥尼亚大学位于地中海明珠——科孚岛（Corfu Island）。学校起源于1824年建立的希腊历史上第一所高等学院爱奥尼亚学院，这是希腊近现代史上第一所高等教育机构。爱奥尼亚大学地缘文化分析实验室（GEOLAB）为联合国教科文组织（UNESCO）开展“文化遗产与安全”教席相关活动的执行机构。实验室主任斯塔夫罗斯·卡西奥斯（Stavros Katsios）教授为该教席持有人，该教席也是希腊大学中唯一一个以文化遗产为主要学科的教席。

二、项目介绍

爱奥尼亚大学地缘文化分析实验室（GEOLAB）开设的文化遗产与安全研究硕士项目，旨在让学生全面了解与文化遗产相关的各种安全问题，为中国及欧盟国家文化遗产研究领域培养高水平人才。学生通过该项目能够掌握必要的知识和技能，以了解、分析和应对威胁文化遗产的复杂挑战。

文化遗产与安全研究硕士项目所开设课程属跨学科课程，借鉴了人类学、考古学、历史学、艺术史、政治学、法学、环境研究和旅游研究等不同领域的观点和专业知识。课程体系由基础课程、核心课程、毕业论文写作构成。除基本课程学习外，还可提供实习、实地考察、暑期学校和实践讲习班等额外课程，为学生提供文化遗产保护领域的实践经验。

三、学制安排

项目学制：1.5年，3学期（2个学期的课程学习以及1个学期的硕士论文研究）

学习形式：全日制线下与远程学习

学习地点：爱奥尼亚大学（希腊科孚岛）

授课语言：英文

四、申请条件

（1）本科及以上学历，专业不限，文学、历史、哲学相关专业优先；

（2）具有良好的英文交流能力，雅思成绩5.5分或新托福60分及以上，能适应全英文授课，申请者须提供有效的英语水平证明。

五、申请材料

前置学历认证报告、官方中英文毕业证明和学位证明、官方中英文成绩单、中英文个人简历、语言能力证书/成绩单。

六、招生计划

招生人数：2024年计划招生25人

面试时间：2024年12月

七、考核形式

录取工作由爱奥尼亚大学指派面试官，根据报名情况对符合条件的申请者进行面试，综合考核，择优录取。

八、学费详情

学费4680欧元/学期，生活费、住宿费自理。（既往参加过爱奥尼亚大学“文化遗产保护与可持续发展职业培训和终身学习计划”并成功获得学分证书的学员，可获得1500欧元的学费减免。）

九、学位授予

学生在学制年限内完成规定的学习内容、学分及毕业论文，可获得爱奥尼亚大学颁发的文化遗产与安全研究专业硕士学位证书，优秀毕业生经爱奥尼亚大学评估，可优先推荐进入该专业联合培养双学位博士项目。

I. About the University

 

Ionian University is located on the gem of the Mediterranean, the island of Corfu. The university originated from the Ionian Academy founded in 1824, which was the first institution of higher education in modern Greek history. The Laboratory for Geocultural Analyses (GEOLAB) at Ionian University serves as the executing body for the UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage related Activities, which is the only chair in Greek universities dedicated to cultural heritage studies. Professor Stavros Katsios, Director of the Laboratory, serves as the holder of the Chair.

 

II. Program Overview

 

The MA program in in Security and Cultural Heritage Studies offered by GEOLAB at Ionian University aims to provide students with comprehensive insights into various security issues related to cultural heritage and develop high-level talents in the field of cultural heritage for China and EU countries. Students who graduate from the program will acquire necessary knowledge and skills to understand, analyze, and address the complex challenges that pose a threat to cultural heritage.

 

The MA program in in Security and Cultural Heritage Studies features an interdisciplinary curriculum drawing from perspectives and expertise in anthropology, archaeology, history, art history, political science, law, environmental studies and tourism studies, encompassing foundational modules, core modules and dissertation. In addition to basic classroom learning, opportunities such as internships, field trips, summer schools, and practical workshops are provided to equip students with practical experience in cultural heritage conservation.

 

III. Program Duration

 

Duration: 1.5 years, 3 semesters

Mode of Study: Full-time on campus and distance learning

Location: Ionian University (Corfu Island, Greece)

Language of Instruction: English

 

IV. Admission Requirements

 

1. Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree or above. There is no specific requirement about the applicant’s major, but majors related to literature, history, and philosophy are preferred.

2. Applicants are expected to demonstrate proficiency in English communication as all courses are instructed in English. IELTS: 5.5, TOEFL iBT: 60. Applicants must provide valid English proficiency certificates.

Verification report of the degree certificate you have already acquired, official graduation and degree certificates in both Chinese and English, official transcripts in both Chinese and English, CV in both Chinese and English, language proficiency certificate/score in both Chinese and English.

VII. Admission procedure

 

The admission procedure is conducted by designated interviewers from Ionian University. Applicants who fulfil the criteria will be interviewed and selected based on comprehensive assessment. Upon approval, offer letters will be sent out uniformly.

 

VIII. Tuition Fee

 

Tuition fee for this program is €4680 per semester and living expenses and accommodation fees are self-funded. (Participants who have previously attended the " Vocational Training and Lifelong Learning Program for Cultural Heritage Conservation and Sustainable Development" at Ionian University and successfully obtained a credit certificate are eligible for a €1500 tuition fee waiver.)

 

IX. Degree Awarding

 

Upon completion of the required courses, credits, and dissertation within the duration, students will be awarded the master’s degree in Security and Cultural Heritage Studies at Ionian University. Outstanding graduates, as evaluated by Ionian University, may be prioritized for recommendation into the joint doctoral program. Ionian University is accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and graduates can have their master’s degrees certified by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange.

Note:

 

The MA program in Security and Cultural Heritage Studies at Ionian University, Greece, is implemented by the Hellenic Sinology Center. The center oversees the smooth progress of the program's enrolment and talent development:

 

1. Some courses of the MA program may be taught in China by the Hellenic Sinology Center with the authorization of Ionian University, depending on circumstances;

 

2. For applicants who did not qualify for the program due to their failure to meet the English proficiency standards alone, the Hellenic Sinology Center will entrust relevant Chinese institutions to organize and conduct English training (with additional training fees);

 

3. The Hellenic Sinology Center will provide academic assistants for students admitted to the program, offering one-on-one academic guidance to ensure that students can produce a high-quality dissertation and acquire their master's degree;

 

4. The Hellenic Sinology Center will provide one-stop assistance for applicants by providing various conveniences for Chinese students studying in Greece.
